In Heroes of the Public Domain, the wizard Merlin has gathered together champions from across time to form a league to promote justice and truth. This book contains rules for players to take the role of one of these champions. These characters are built on the rock-solid rules chassis of Dungeon Crawl Classics, with just enough special seasoning to make them tasty and distinct.
Heroes of the Public Domain is a toolbox for Judges and players of Dungeon Crawl Classics with supplemental rules for playing and creating pulp-style adventures that still feel like they could belong in Appendix N.
Heroes is a power fantasy that takes one of the most inspired aspects of DCC (that even low-level play can have cosmic stakes) and dials it up to eleven. Heroes is inspired by comic books and novels by Alan Moore, Philip Jose Farmer, and Warren Ellis.
What's in the book?
Part 1 includes a few new brief rules and systems to facilitate a super-heroic game of Dungeon Crawl Classics with Heroes of the Public Domain.
Part 2 includes stats for public domain characters, both for use as NPCs and by player characters
